metropa – the european superfast railway network

METROPA

METROPA is an art and peace project that shows Europe as an entity on multiple layers; its clear and simple imagery anticipates the idea of a paneuropean metro network system that interconnects all its citizens and visitors, turning them into admirers.
METROPA operates in a future where all ecological, economical, technical and political questions are answered and transformed into a viable comprehension of what could be the Federal Republic of Europe someday.

METROPA defines mobility as a fundamental right of everybody, that is superior to the market and the egoistic interests of single countries. People are not trees – they should be able to roam wherever they want, for free, and at anytime they want.

METROPA makes a new Europe emerge, where cities become stations, and we’re all citizens. Borders disappear as the connections are made, making place for super fast trains that bring people from the city centers in all directions –  as it happens already all day long in any big metropolitan city of today.

We want the people to think about it and then to develop the desire for this to happen someday, as soon as possible. Together we can push the powerful and the decision makers in this direction and make them think. The more people see this picture, the more they like it, and finally build it. It is the palpable picture of a citizen-centred unified Europe.
